Sustainability
Sustainability claims depend on the product, origin, certification scheme and supporting chain-of-custody documentation.
Schemes and certificates
Where a sustainability scheme applies, the certificate holder, scope, validity, material category and chain-of-custody route should be checked. Turco & Co does not issue or replace scheme certification.
Traceability
Collection, production, processing, storage and transfer records should support the origin and status claimed for the material. Proof of Sustainability and Union Database records may be relevant to certain EU renewable-fuel routes.
No green claims without evidence
Environmental benefit, waste status and emissions claims should follow the applicable methodology and evidence. If the chain cannot be supported, the claim should not be used in the commercial file.
