UCO feedstock for UCOME biodiesel procurement.
UCOME is used cooking oil methyl ester, a biodiesel produced from UCO through a suitable conversion process. Turco & Co's offer concerns the feedstock; the producer determines the pretreatment, conversion and finished-fuel requirements.
Start with the plant's receiving specification
Share the refinery's acceptance limits and testing requirements before discussing a shipment. The website targets are FFA below 5%, combined MIV below 1.5%, sulphur below 50 mg/kg and iodine value 50–70 g I2/100 g. These are indicative procurement targets, not universal acceptance limits for every biodiesel plant.
Separate feedstock quality from finished-fuel quality
An accepted UCO sample does not establish the quality of the finished UCOME. The producer must assess its process and final fuel against the applicable requirements. A feedstock certificate of analysis records the sample results; it is not a finished-biodiesel conformity certificate.
Plan pretreatment and additional testing
Ask the technical team which additional contaminants or handling properties it needs to assess. Agree the scope of testing, units, methods, representative sampling and acceptance decision. Any treatment assumption should be confirmed by the receiving plant rather than inferred from a single headline parameter.
Connect sustainability evidence to deliveries
For a procurement requirement under a sustainability scheme, review the relevant operators, waste origin and transaction-linked documentation. Lifecycle greenhouse-gas performance depends on the complete fuel pathway and the applicable calculation method. It is not a fixed property of the oil.
Submit a refinery requirement
Provide the receiving specification, indicative volume, destination, delivery period and documentation requirements. The commercial review then aligns product acceptance with FOB Mombasa or CIF a named ARA port and the agreed documentary payment structure.
