Turco & Co / UCO
UCO feedstock for eligible SAF production pathways.
Used cooking oil can be considered as feedstock for eligible sustainable aviation fuel pathways. The material offered here is UCO, not finished aviation fuel. Suitability depends on the producer's process and applicable certification requirements.
Begin with the producer's process
Identify the intended conversion pathway and the plant's feedstock acceptance requirements. A generic UCO specification does not establish suitability for every SAF process. The technical team should define the pretreatment assumptions, additional contaminants to test and acceptance procedure before a purchase decision.
Match the scheme to the intended market
Different aviation fuel markets can require different sustainability schemes and supporting records. Confirm the scheme needed for the intended use and check that the relevant operators and material are covered. Do not assume that documentation for one programme establishes eligibility under another.
Keep origin and quality evidence distinct
Laboratory results describe the sample's physical and chemical characteristics. Waste-origin and sustainability records address different questions about the material and its supply chain. A robust procurement review needs both, linked to the proposed lot and the relevant counterparties.
Assess lifecycle claims separately
Any proposed greenhouse-gas saving must be supported by the applicable lifecycle methodology and evidence for the fuel pathway. An indicative commercial target is not a measured property of UCO, a guarantee of final SAF performance or an aviation-fuel approval.
Prepare a technical procurement enquiry
Share the plant specification, intended application, required sustainability scheme, proposed quantity, receiving port and delivery period. This allows the commercial discussion to address the actual feedstock and documentation requirements without implying that the raw material is finished SAF.
