Turco & Co is a trading house specialised in the international purchase and resale of used cooking oil. We buy from suppliers and we sell to professional buyers, including refiners, biofuel producers and other trading companies. Our work rests on knowledge of the markets, a careful selection of commercial opportunities and close attention to product quality, contractual terms and the organisation of each transaction. When a stem closes, we are the named buyer on one contract and the named seller on the other. Title, price and performance sit with the house.
Startbiz LLC, trading as Turco & Co
The legal person is Startbiz LLC. Turco & Co is the trading name under which we are known to the market. The company is registered in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, under SHAMS licence 2218328.01. The registered address is Sharjah Media City (SHAMS), Al Messaned, Al Bataeh, Sharjah. Those are the facts a counterparty needs in order to know who it is writing to. They are also the facts that belong on a contract and on an invoice. Commercial correspondence is associated with Dubai. The trading desk is reached at trading@turcoandco.com. Registration in Sharjah and commercial writing from Dubai describe the same legal person, not two companies and not two licences. This page does not publish a founding year, a turnover, a headcount or a list of countries. Where such figures are required for a file, they are requested from the desk. What we are not
We are not a matching platform. We do not introduce two files to each other and step away. We negotiate purchase terms with suppliers and resale terms with buyers, taking account of product characteristics, available volumes, destination and market conditions. We are not a consultancy. We do not advise on a cargo that remains someone else’s while collecting a fee for commentary. We buy and we sell. We are not a tank terminal. We do not operate storage of our own and we do not present inventory as if it already sat in a Turco tank farm. The logistics of each stem follow the contract: loading place, commercial basis and destination.
A commercial position on physical cargoes
Each transaction is studied individually. Delivery terms, payment terms, required documents and any inspections are defined according to the needs of the parties and the characteristics of the operation. Buyers typically look for feedstock that matches industrial requirements. Quality is decisive. Depending on the process, limits may apply to free fatty acids, moisture, impurities or iodine value. Those points are set out in our specifications. Volumes, regularity of delivery, origin and documentary requirements also enter the assessment of an offer. We study these parameters in order to propose commercial conditions that can be performed. Suppliers who wish to sell UCO internationally need clear information on origin, characteristics, saleable quantities and available documents. We review offers with that standard in mind. The oil does not sit in Turco tanks
Used cooking oil purchased by the desk does not sit in a Turco tank. There is no terminal of our own, no storage advertised as available on call, and no inventory presented as if it were already warehoused under our name in the Emirates. Cargoes can move from the supplier’s facilities to the destination agreed with the buyer, in line with the contract. Who inspects, who books carriage and who pays are questions the contracts answer. A trader without owned storage is still a trader. Title, risk and payment follow the contract, not the location of a tank we do not operate. The supplier’s loading place and the buyer’s destination are the two points that matter. Carriage options, commercial bases and handover are set out under logistics. Those arrangements are settled before a booking, not after a vessel has already been named.
Documents, not logos
Before a file is closed, we read what the parties have put on paper. A specification describes what a lot is offered as. A certificate of analysis reports results for an identified sample. Certificates of sustainability, origin and inspection, where required, must attach to the same lot, the same operators and the same movement. Certification schemes, inspection brands and contractual forms named elsewhere on the site are referentials the trade employs. They are not exclusive appointments, and they are not a claim that a mark on a page is evidence of a cargo. A certificate is a document with a scope, a validity and an identified subject. A logo is a mark. Origin is not proved by a country name in an email. Quantity is not proved by a round figure without a loading record. We ask for the documents that belong to the transaction and we check them before we sign. That review does not replace the buyer’s own diligence, the inspector’s attendance or the laboratory’s result.
A desk written from the United Arab Emirates
The United Arab Emirates occupy an important place in international trade, through logistics infrastructure and connections with Asian, African and European markets. Our registration in Sharjah and our commercial correspondence associated with Dubai give the house a base suited to international UCO trading. That location does not mean that every cargo physically transits Dubai. The route follows the contract: origin, delivery basis and the buyer’s destination.
