Used cooking oil price per tonne: how to compare quotes
Understand a UCO price quotation and calculate comparable landed costs without confusing indicative offers with verified market prices.

Direct answer
There is no single universal UCO price per tonne. A comparable quote needs a date, currency, quantity, measured quality, sustainability requirements, delivery place and Incoterm. Use actual supplier and logistics quotations to calculate the cost per accepted tonne.
What a price must identify
A bare number does not identify a purchasable cargo. Ask whether it refers to an available lot, an indicative target or a historical assessment. Record the validity window and the evidence supporting the quoted quality.
Separate the oil price from origin handling, inspection, inland transport, freight, insurance and destination expenses. Do not add freight twice if it is already included in the purchase basis. Currency conversion needs a stated rate and date.

Compare accepted tonnes, not just shipped tonnes
A low offer can become expensive if the buyer incurs treatment costs, unaccepted material or quantity loss. The cost calculator on this site divides entered shipment costs by the quantity assumed to be accepted. It does not predict plant yield or a market price.
For an illustrative arithmetic exercise only, 20 shipped tonnes at 800 currency units per tonne plus 2,000 shipment costs total 18,000. With zero quantity loss, the result is 900 per tonne. These numbers are fictional inputs, not UCO quotations.
Request a documented commercial assessment
Send the specification, shipment size, loading and receiving places, required scheme evidence and payment expectations. Ask for a dated quote and explicitly stated inclusions. Pricing and financing need human validation before use in a contract.
- Same currency and quote date
- Same quality and documentation basis
- Same named delivery point
- Costs counted once
- Quantity-loss and treatment assumptions stated
Buyer questions
Does Turco & Co publish a live UCO benchmark?
This guide does not publish a live benchmark or a current verified price. A commercial quote must be assessed for a specified lot and requirement.
Is CIF automatically cheaper than FOB?
No. Compare equivalent delivered costs, including the costs already included in each quotation and the expenses that remain for the buyer.
Sources and evidence
Primary references support the stated technical definitions. Procurement checklists are editorial guidance, not evidence of a specific lot, shipment or certification.
Confirm laboratory methods, commercial terms and applicable requirements with the buyer and qualified advisers before contracting. No guide establishes stock availability or company certification.
